Girls Football Update

It was a testing week last week with illness striking down a few key players for the U14 Girl's football team. However, with this including NBA's top goal scorer, it allowed other students an opportunity to step up and create a name for themselves.

The first match was against Bishop Walsh.  Libby Flemming made no mistakes when a pass from Renee Foster came to her feet in the box, Libby buried the ball into the net with great power, sealing her first goal for NBA.  NBA played well, retaining possession for a lot of the match, however, unfortunately they came unstuck when a corner kick to the back post was meet with a fantastic volley from the Walsh striker in the dying minutes.  The game finished 1-1.

The second match was against Highclare.  A disastrous start occurred when NBA conceded an own goal and another goal in quick succession due to confusion at the back.  Being 2-0 down within 5 minutes caused NBA to push hard to try to retrieve the game.  Their resilience paid off when Lashay Moses took the ball past a High Clare defender and slotted it into the bottom corner of the goal.   This gave NBA a boost and they started to dominate the game.  Libby Flemming capitalised on a great ball played in from Alice Tuite to make it 2-2.  NBA then went on to hit the post and hit the bar, desperately trying to change the draw into a win. Unfortunately time ran out and the game ended 2-2.
